About Cornwood Cricket Club
Situated in the Dartmoor National Park, close to Ivybridge and Plympton, Cornwood Cricket Club is one of the most dynamic clubs in Devon with top notch facilities. We attract players from all over the county who have a desire to be a part of true family orientated club that provides cricket for all ages and ability levels.
We have four open age group teams participating in the Saturday Devon Cricket League, with our 1st XI competing in the top flight Devon Premier Division. We've recently introduced a 5th XI in our open age group category. Consisting of a even mix of youth and adult players, it offers a great pathway in to adult cricket for our youth players. This alongside our midweek P&D team, which offers short format cricket in a more competitive environment for players of all abilities
Cornwood Ladies 1st team has now been running for over ten years and compete in the top division of the Devon Women’s Cricket League. Alongside our Ladies 1st team, we are also running a ladies softball cricket team which will be participating in a friendly league amongst other local clubs.
We welcome ladies and girls, whether new to the game or experienced, we can offer great playing opportunities. At colts’ level we have junior teams, ranging from Under 9s to under 19s, as well as our “Acorns” who learn the game from age 7 upwards. Cornwood CC supports the ECB AllStars (5 to 8 year olds) & Dynamo’s (8 to 11 year olds) programmes, and were one of the first clubs in Devon to sign up to this nationwide initiative in the local area. Our AllStar graduates now play as high as the Under 13 age group
Our family friendly club is always vibrant throughout the summer months. Our Friday night club nights are a great opportunity to socialise and enjoy the facilities that the club has to offer while the Colts training takes place.
Cornwood CC is at the heart of the local community and has facilities which rival the best that Devon can offer. Whether you are a competitive or social player, Cornwood CC can offer cricket to meet your needs.
We are keen to welcome new men, lady and youth players for the forthcoming season, regardless of your experience, get in touch today. Same applies for anyone who thinks they may be able to provide assistance in one capacity or another. We thrive due to the efforts of our amazing volunteers.

As we look ahead to the new season, I’m genuinely excited about what lies ahead for our first team.
It’s a massive boost to have kept the same group of lads together from last year — a testament to the strong team spirit we’ve built both on and off the field. That kind of consistency is rare and something I don’t take for granted.
We’ve got a great mix of experience and youthful energy, and I know everyone’s hungry to push on and improve. Last year gave us a solid foundation, and with the lessons we’ve learned, I believe we’re in a great position to challenge strongly this time around.
I’m also really pleased to welcome Samarpit into the side. He’s a quality addition to our batting line-up, and I’ve no doubt he’ll bring both runs and calmness to the crease when we need it most. More than anything, I’m just looking forward to getting out there with this group — enjoying our cricket, backing each other, and hopefully putting together a season to remember.
Thanks to everyone behind the scenes who keeps things running smoothly — your support means the world. Let’s get stuck in and make it a good one!
